Momiji @ Minoo, Osaka

Momiji - literally called Red leaves (refering to the red Maple leaves), is one of Japan's best season (other than Hanami - Sakura flower viewing). It depends on the temperature changes and the wind direction, but the best time to view the red maple leaves is in late November. There are several locations to view the spectacular scenery, but my recommendation is to go very early in the morning to avoid the congestion.

It's been more than 2 years I haven't been Momiji viewing, so this time, with my 2 wives (referring to my 2 cameras). I planned to make a trip to Minoo, Osaka (also a place famous for drifting).

Beautiful colour coordination

In between two trees

Still early for momiji, but there might not be another one next week

The Malaysian Kaki-photo

Under the shade of maple trees

Green Yellow, Red, Orange, what more ?

Rich colours...Nothing can match God's intelligence

One tall tree with moss on the bark,still... it looks good

beautiful tones

The bridge

Japanese architecture blended with Nature

The bridge area, and the river is always crowded on weekends. Even people picnic on the rocks on the river

Part of the bridge's edge with maple leaves backdrop

A blend of tradition and nature

A slight close up of the maple leaves

The waterfall. You won't be able to see this view in weekends - blocked by people

One red, one yellow... beautiful

We stopped halfway and took a pic of this tree

Breaking the monotony

Then we reached Katsuo-ji. A temple with beautful gardens. We got a parking lot and it was a hefty 500 yen / 1st two hours. Then, the temple's entry fee was 400 yen / person, so we gave up cause it is a little too expensive. Instead we took some pictures from the outside. Anyway, it is beatiful enough at FOC.

I think that's why some of the temples are red - to blend with the maple leaves ?

What balances the 500yen parking fee is a row of maple trees at its corner

Beautiful

I got back home at 12 noon and straight to classes.... tiring but it was good. It's more tiring spending time in front of the PC with post processing than at the spot taking pictures.

Nice blog. Wonderful pictures. Your blog is great. Momijis must be the most beautiful trees in autumn in the world

I ask you? In japan (by internet) where can I buy seed of momijis?

Thanks for visiting and I appreciate your comment. However in regards to momiji seeds, there isn't any. It is actually maple leaves turning red in autumn, but they call it "momiji" as a season for viewing red autumn leaves.
