G shock phone Ver 3.
Do you remember the green colour cool looking phone from Fast and Furious 3 : Tokyo Drift ? Yup, that phone exists... and it is one of the famous models around... especially motorheads, aventure lovers, and eccentrics.... Now the newer version of it is out....
Was thinking of getting a new phone as my older one got too many scratches from careless drops I made (just bought it last year). Now my mobile phone carrier, a.u. , is promoting so much to bring in more customers and to provide a very good customer loyalty service. Perhaps excellent ? The newer service (although it was launched 2 years ago), had good array of mobile phone sets and services (mostly on internet). So I subscribed it and I just need to pay about 8000 yen (RM 240++) for unlimited internet browsing + e-mailing, etc)... but I only get 25 free talking minutes ( I don't talk that much on the phone tho).
Then got the box which looked like....
Very neat, simple, elegant... The previous phone however has a more rugged looking box. As I opened it, alot of manual stuff...comes with a USB cable and a CD software(which I've yet to open). Casio never failed to impress their customers with their interesting phone charger dock... My previous phone charger dock looks like an oversized bolt...and this one...
Looks like something from Star Wars saga... Darth-Vader-ish...
And the phone's battery is difficult to be removed without this...
The previous' phone battery uses the same concept but was easier to open.
And I present you the phone....
Jeng Jeng Jeng !!!!! (runs the 20th Century Fox bgm)
There is a hint that somewhere in the future I will be getting a Nissan Murano or the next generation of the Skyline GTR or perhaps....
a perodua MyVi....
Casio mobile phone designers never failed to provide the best colour for their phones.
There are also Black and white, but I chose Volcano Orange as it has a sense of adventure-ish + futuristic character...
Even the previous phone was the Racing Red.... Very good colour...
This time the concept is somewhat more futuristic. The previous phone's (G'zOne version2) theme was more of motorsports. while the current one stresses more on some sci-fi movie. Features about more or less the same but the Version 3 comes with PC Web viewer 2.0 megapixel digital camera , faster internet connection, a music player !!!( with a Micro SD Slot), more advanced GPS navigation, bigger screen, Push to talk service, and so much more... Still yet to explore the phone's capabilities.
But rest assure, you don't need an mp3 player nowadays when you have this phone.
After more than 1 year of contract, I got this phone at about 7000 yen (RM210)... It is a little old (more than 3 months old), but the toughness of the phone is very impressive (the version 2 of the phone has proven it)... Waterproof, shock proof... military grade I assume....
Now hopefully Version 4 comes out.... with more features...
Version 1 came out long time ago when Matrix the movie came out. It wasn't the clamshell phone but the design alone meant business. Can I consider the SOCOM of Phones ? You bet it is !
