Farewell 2007... welcome 2008
Sorry to keep you all waiting for my next post but I think this would be the last for 2007.
Time flies so fast that I still remember almost all the events going on this year. Time to wrap things up for the year 2007 and making resolutions for year 2008. 2007 was rather a turbulent yet memorable year for me. Ups and downs physically, psychologically, emotionally, and academically. At 23 and in the 3rd year , a lot of changes in life and a lot of decision making in where to head in life.
Now, turning a new leaf in the new year. I hope all the issues in me are resolved and hope this new year would be a brighter, clearer and more meaningful. Firstly, I thank God for being alive and teaching me a lot of life experiences, my parents for being supportive and working hard to help me graduate (financially).I thank my Muslim friends for giving me a lot of spiritual advices , my Rotary Club Councillor for helping me financially and physically healthy in Japan, my Japanese friends in OIT Regalia for doing an impressive job on making the car finishing 8 hours at Suzuka circuit, my lecturers, classmates, fellow Malaysians, Japanese friends, and all my readers (who painstakingly took their time reading my boring blog)
Well these are the pictures taken specially in the year 2007, based on chronological order
I did start a new year with a burning smell of gunpowder
Yeah, spent 100 rounds on the Magnum and the snubby. What a start... Don't get me wrong, but someone who have lived through the Counter-Strike and action movie generation would get their hands on these.
Then a trip to Tokushima Prefecture, famous for their Awa Odori and whirlpool.
Me facing the Pacific Ocean in the evening. I was a little down back then because of a foolish "crush" over someone. It took a toll till November that I decided to break it off. Now I'm a better person.
However nothing is better than having a good pair of Oakley Splice
Yup, my friend, Hamsa talked about his beloved Splice (which he lost it somewhere). Indeed this is one of the best Oakleys I've ever had. Bought it in May, the day before a measles outbreak in college, forcing a 1 week closure.
Then in August 3,4 and 5th... OIT Regalia entered the Dream Cup Solar Car race 2007 at Suzuka circuit. We reached our target of completing the 8 hours endurance race. A huge success for our team and I thank everyone for the hard work
On the 8th I went back to Malaysia for a summer vacation and my parents and I went for Umrah (Minor Pilgrimage to Mecca). I couldn't take my DSLR with me into the Masjidil Haram, I took some photos with the Casio Gz'one
After the Umrah, went back to Malaysia just before the 50th Anniversary of Independence day i.e. 31st August. This is one of the best spots in taking a march pass photography.
Then it was Ramadhan in mid of September stretching down to mid of October. During that period, I didn't take a single photo. Busy with visits to the Mosque for iftar (breaking the fast), and prayers. This year was a memorable one because met new people, made new friends and strengthening ties with the one that are loose.
Just a week later, I got myself a 10-20mm lens, which was incredible. Sadly though I didn't get to go for Autumn Leaf Viewing in Minoo and Kyoto this year. Too busy with so many things.
One of my first pictures with the wide angle lens,
Then I decided to improve my skills by taking pictures of Namba Parks, an excellent architecture shooting spot.
Then one afternoon I decided to take the picture of the sky because it was a beautiful day in Autumn.
We had a lot of end year dinners and one of the notable ones was a dinner with my scholarship councillor. Had fine dining dinner at two of the top hotels in Japan. Imperial Hotel Osaka and Rihga Royal Hotel. Of course I had my reservations in food and drink. So I got a lucky draw present from the organisation dinner...
Totoro !!!!
It's just too cute... I checked the price and it was about 5000 yen (about 48USD). I won't buy such plush toy with my own money though.
Anyway that roughly tells what happened in 2007. I wish you all a Happy New Year 2008!
